A couple of dings on the edge of the frame
The rod appears to be have the same characteristics and weight of the "Leetle Feller" 7 foot rod which originated in the San Francisco era
I have found it to be by far and away the best rod varnish made as it never gets gummy
For sale here is an impregnated Orvis Madison 8' 2/1 7-8wt bamboo rod with a labeled weight of 4 3/8 oz

Summers has since applied a very light protective overcoat of varnish to the cane and wraps
The wraps are the Payne-typical brown silk tipped with gold
There are somewhat minor scratches in the varnish throughout both sections
