Orvis Battenkill 6'6 Bamboo RodFor sale here is a rare 6'6 impregnated Orvis Battenkill bamboo rod. 2 5 8 oz. Medium action. This model was introduced in the 1968 catalog. Marked for a 6 line but like most Orvis rods, a line down from this designation works best, so a WF5 or DT5. Size 11 64 ferrules. Serial #49433. The rod is in excellent+ original condition. Original bag and tube with very nice label intact.
Serial number 210 from the Larry Foster era
Though labeled for a 5 weight line a DT4 might suit it as well
Made with pre-embargo cane
The rod features the "loving cup" label on the butt section
a long-time fisherman and resident of Virginia
The action is a bit slower and with more feel than most modern graphite rods and capable of considerable finesse
