SOLD..............An engraved pearl thread winder. c 1830An engraved mother of pearl thread winder from a fitted sewing box. c 1830 It has eight engraved lobes and a starburst design in the centre. Both sides are similarly decorated. 3 cm in diameter. In very good condition. Stock no. JT03

It has two patterns- a band of stars on a worked background with square dimpling above

In good condition- only minor signs of use on the barrel but with damage to the retaining ring on the end of the pencil

The side has alternating strips of green and white pearl and the turning spindle is pearl too

An interesting gold plated quizzing glass

* A similar size to the other barrel but with slightly variant decoration and spindle finial

A pair of French chocolate boxes made from decorated card with prints under glass on the lids

They have 4 dots grouped in a diamond pattern as decoration on the handles and are fully marked

In excellent condition- no damage but there is a gap where the applied band should joins up

The metalwork is unpolished

The ebonized base is trimmed on the edge with a gold on black zigzag pattern

In excellent condition and in working order with lead in situ
