Swords of this type were employed by both the Franks and the Vikings at the beginning of the Viking Age, and were in use during the Viking raid on Lindisfarne in England. Such swords were utilised throughout the Viking world. The sword features a short, rounded cross guard and is well suited to light sword fighting.
